│ PsyCZ group was formed in spring 2001 by its first three members ... │
│ But as every group grows and gets new members, new people joined PsyCZ │
│ to help us in our mission. Our main common loved genere was psychedelic │
│ ... of course, but everone of us likes several more genres. This caused, │
│ that several members began to demand releasing other music styles such │
│ as ambient, drum&bass and few more ... So we realized, that our original │
│ name PsyCZ is a little uncomfortable, because it highlights our psy - │
│ sight. After few days of debates we decided to found new sub-group ... │
│ and here we are ... PsyCZ_NP will bring you plenty of non psychedelic │
│ music ... especially ambient, but some other genres are planned too. │
│ Why did we decide for non-psy? Changing of the group name isn't possible │
│ so possibilities we had was only adding a suffix to current group name │
│ ... so have chosen non-psy, because it's clearest and most fluent ... │

│ Hybrid was in many ways one of the key "ambient" albums of the first │
│ major popular wave of the genre. In the mid-80s, Brian Eno, Jon │
│ Hassell, Daniel Lanois, David Sylvian, and others were all working │
│ extensively in this vein, releasing ambient music for the first time │
│ though major labels and to popular audiences. │
│ │
│ Hybrid came out of the collision of several of these luminaries, and │
│ marks a quietly low-key point in the hybridization of Eastern and │
│ Western notions of ambience. │
│ │
│ The ethnicity of Hybrid manifests itself mainly though its attitude. │
│ His invention the infinite guitar winds sinewy lines through most of │
│ the album, invoking more Eastern notions of tone and melody. The album │
│ is somber and quiet (almost to the point of silence at times), seeking │
│ world fusion through atmosphere and drones rather than the │
│ appropriation of exotic instruments and languages (a school of World │
│ Music followed by Enigma and Deep Forest). │
│ │
│ Hybrid is perhaps the only of Brook's albums that may be comfortably │
│ termed "ambient." It is not only the presence of beats and melodies in │
│ his later solo and collaborative work that sets it apart from his │
│ first album, nor is it his gradual removal from the Eno / Lanois │
│ circles of influence. │
