The debut mini album from The Nightjars, a band out of Manchester, England.
The Nightjars sound is as much steeped in that cities independent scene as it is
that of their American influences (Velvets, Sonic Youth, Low, Nirvana).
Invited to be the band for an improv concert collaboration with musical hero
Damo Suzuki (of kraut rock legends CAN), the band have not looked back since.
When their first seven inch was released in Winter 2006, it quickly sold out and
the band signed to Reveal Records.
Reveal invited American musician and producer KRAMER ( Shimmy Disc, Butthole
Surfers, Low , Galaxie 500 ) over to join the band in the Welsh countryside and
record their debut seven song mini album .
The resulting record shows a band tight and inventive, at the very start of
their studio careers yet on impressive and explosive form, a tight knit unit
seizing their opportunities with both arms, Kramer capturing the group with a
lively production and mix . Strong melodies shine forth out of each fragmented
structure, another great band from the North, out of time and out of step but
with the songs to turn on many.
" Despite coming from all corners of England the Manchester based band capture
the spirit of Husker Du and the pop sensibilities of The Saints!
Impressive Stuff ! " Marc Riley BBC Radio
Enjoy!
