| | Initiated by Leo Tardin, Grand Pianoramax is an all-live | |
| | keyboards/drums duo with occasional guests MCs/vocalists blending | |
| | Minimoog-synth bass, syncopated keys, organic drumming and | |
| | freestyle spoken words improv/slam. | |
| | | |
| | Taking advantage of this minimal and flexible set-up, Leo Tardin | |
| | took up the challenge of developing hybrid stylistic directions | |
| | in their most essential renditions by joining forces with | |
| | first-class artists such as drummers Deantoni Parks (Kudu), Adam | |
| | Deitch, live drum'n'bass pioneer Jojo Mayer and poets/MCs Mike | |
| | Ladd, Spleen, Celena Glenn (Coco Rosie, Bunny Rabbit), Invincible | |
| | (PPP). | |
| | | |
| | The debut Grand Pianoramax album, recorded in New York with Jojo | |
| | Mayer and Thelonious Monk institute scholar Ferenc Nemeth was | |
| | released worldwide in 2005 by ObliqSound and generated over 43000 | |
| | downloads on iTunes USA. The "Starlite" EP was also released the | |
| | same year with remixes from Nuspirit Helsinki and Domu | |
| | complementing the original version. | |
| | | |
| | Primarily a live project, Leo Tardin performed with Grand | |
| | Pianoramax at venues including Joes Pub, Jazz Standard, Sirius | |
| | Satellite Radio, Nublu, Union Hall (New York), Jazz CafΘ | |
| | (London), Moods (Zⁿrich), Le Tryptique (Paris), Galeria ZDB | |
| | (Lisbon) and at various festivals across Europe. | |
| | | |
| | Appart from his activities with Grand Pianoramax Leo Tardin | |
| | performed and/or recorded as pianist with musicians including Roy | |
| | Ayers, Frank Morgan, Toots Thielemans, Dave Liebman, Enrico Rava, | |
| | Charles Tolliver, Gregoire Maret. | |
| | | |
| | Leo Tardin also frequently performed with Portuguese singer Paula | |
| | Oliveira, with whom he recorded two successful albums of | |
| | Portuguese traditional and revolution-era songs for Universal | |
| | Music. This collaboration led to extensive tours throughout | |
| | Southern Europe and frequent stays in Lisbon, a city he developed | |
| | a strong fascination for. He also recently performed in Istanbul | |
| | with Orient Expressions, a Turkish ensemble mixing traditional | |
| | music with electronica. | |
