HURTMOLD - post-rock from Brazil !
NACOPAJAZ is very proud to present Hurtmold in Europe.
This band is a fantastic discovery from the alternative
scene of Sao-Paulo (Brazil) which shows once again the
avant-guardism profile of many artists from Porto alegre
to Recife that couldnt be resumed to the usuals clichΘ. If
all the musicians know, integrated and respect all the
heritage of Brazilian musics (from Forro to bossa-samba
grooves), they cannot all be defined related to this.
NACOPAJAZ will release, starting with HURTMOLD, new
artists from that upcoming scene, fruit of many researchs
(with some friends In Rio) and trips there, please welcome
New SAO PAULO underground NOISES!
HURTMOLD, driven by Mauricio Takara (former drummer of
INSTITUTO excellent hip-hop collective from SP) does'nt
especially refer to a style, cool! Regarding the
backgrounds of all the Musicians: US punk rock, dub,
electronica and some jazz maybe we have a band that's
defining mainly in a collective approach of playing and
find themselves together in a Live experience. This band,
closely connected with the Chicago's planet (Chicago
underground-Tortoise's guys-The eternals) can join the
Post-rock family and be proud to be one of the most
representative band from that scene in Brazil.
HURTMOLD's music is organic, tormented, instrumental,
rythmic ( driven by versatile drums), and recorded live to
maintain a high level of improvisation and accidents in
the tracks.
With a heavy bass, hypnotic guitars, Hurtmold drive us in
an authentic musical world, sometimes dark and rainy
certainly inspired from the big metropole (in opposition
with Rio), well-defined by the cover of MESTRO (black and
white, graphic, industrial).
This discovery is the most promising collective band,
formed by free-musicians, from the ALT Brazil Scene,
please give a shout !!
