Now this really is unexpected, continuing their
exploration into total dancefloor mayhem, Tigerbeat (on
the recently established Tigerbass sub-label) drop a bomb
in the shape of this debut release from the mysterious
C.L.A.W.S. and I for one am jacking to the sound of BASS.
The A-side, simply named 'C.L.A.W.S. Theme' is a steaming
electro-house monster, fusing the synthesized pop of John
Foxx or Gary Numan with the kind of sex-obsessed
dancefloor jiggery-pokery you'd expect to have heard in
Chicago in the late 80s. Strangely enough the very lovely
Jenny Hoysten of Riot Grrrl pinups Errase Errata pops in
for a spot of trumpet too, just to add more oddness to
the whole affair. Flip over and we have two remixes
waiting for us, the strangely Birmingham-techno sounding
'Curses Remix' (backwards overcompressed drum sounds
ALWAYS do it for me) and the bass heavy 'Passions Remix'.
Both versions are explosive, and if Tigerbass keep this
up they'll be giving Hollertronix a run for their
money...
