I'm sure Dekorder regulars will have already come across Black
to Comm, the project of Dekorder boss Marc Richter and if
you've sampled his delightful drones before I'm sure the
concept of new material will be just as exciting for you guys
as it was for me. It doesn't disappoint either with Richter
apparently taking influence from Dutchman Machinefabriek on
the gigantic drone monster 'Blizzard Angels of the Golden
Stratosphere' before moving into cassette taped flute looping
in 'Stereo Lung Flute'. The biggest surprise for me though is
the second side which comes from Aosuke and is an absolutely
stunning collection of guitar and electronic experimentation.
Like a free-folk Robert Fripp this duo of guitarist Tobert
Knopp and Ulf Schutte manipulate guitar loops by layering them
over and over each other, building up tape loops and
introducing the most delicate of electronics. An incredibly
diverse and hugely enjoyable release - all hail Dekorder!
