On his debut CD Stream, Wim Bronnenberg, band leader of Four
More and guitarist in the Dick de Graaf Septet and the Hans
Mantel Group, shows what occupies him in music. Balancing
between jazz and rock, the music he grew up with, the record is
a personal impression of Bronnenberg's musical background. The
guitarist used to listen to Santana, Jan Akkerman, Wes
Montgomery and later the music of guitarists John Abercrombie
and Pat Metheny. Bronnenberg performed one of his first
compositions, "Time of the Gypsies" together with Pat Metheny
during a concert in the The Hague conservatory. Bronnenberg
tries to approximate the human voice with his guitar. He wants
to "give the guitar the same expression and intention as a
singer or a brass instrument, as a story-teller of the melody".
