:: Shaun Hettinger and Jeff Wild met in a USC sculpture class
:: where they turned in sculptures of their respective
:: instruments, a keyboard and a guitar. It was suggested by
:: the teacher that they start a band and so they did, with
:: Hettinger's roommate Nate Archer on drums. Flash forward 4
:: years, and their latest musical incarnation, THE SQUARES, is
:: born. Combining their love for the disco-punk drumming of
:: Bloc Party with 80's synthesizer hooks of The Cars and the
:: driving and melodic guitar blasts of Weezer, THE SQUARES have
:: the song-writing chops to back it up... and with 2 singers no
:: less. THE SQUARES honed their unique, highly energetic, and
:: extremely danceable sound at monthly residencies at LA's The
:: Kibitz Room, where bands like Guns N' Roses, The Wallflowers,
:: and more recently The Vacation, earned their stripes. Get in
