g.p.s. are glenn wilson, patrik skoog and slobodan
glenn wilson is a swedish techno producer. he has been at the
forefront of techno since 1992 when he opened his own record shop
and founded his planet rhythm label to promote swedish artists.
glenn is also a founder of the compound & template labels.
patrik skoog was born in malmo, sweden. patrik first started
messing about with music making at around 15 years of age,
originally influenced by early electro and industrial acts. him
and early friend staffan ehrlin and older brother niklas spent the
first years of learning sequensing and arranging on atari
computers, samplers, tapedecks, and cheap synths & effect modules
exploring ways of creating everything from ebm to electronic
industrial music and all things dancemusic. production efforts
started to turn more towards techno and become more consistent
when "headroom" was formed together with a.flux and henrik larsson
in early 1997. in 1998 their first 12ö record was released on the
swedish stockholm label loop records
slobodan (staffan ehrlin) started off as an producer completely
devoted to electronic body music with strong influences from
skinny puppy, frontline assembly, front 242 & nitzer ebb.
this was in the year of 1993-94. later on in the fall of 1996 he
started to investigate the techno scene and it┤s danceculture. he
started to buy records from artists and producers who at the time
were responsible for the most pounding releases.
