     This is part of a special set of releases for DPS' seventh
     birthday, and we hope lovers of both classical music and 
     scandalous copyright infringement will appreciate it! No,
     the irony is not lost on us at all...

     To summarise, these recordings are not by Joyce Hatto; they are
     recordings by other pianists 'remixed' by her husband and sold
     under her name. It is not clear if Hatto, really only a
     second-rate piano teacher, was privy to the fraud. Regardless,
     it is likely that these recordings will not be available in 
     this fraudulent format for long, so these releases are meant to
     serve an archival interest.

     This CD is derived mainly from the Patricia Pagny release with a
     few tracks taken from Szokolay and Babayan.

     Track 11 is subjected to tempo manipulation but on early pressings
     of the CD it is not.  Early pressings of this CD have Sonata K. 87
     as track 8 (same performance as on Scarlatti Volume 1) .This was
     later replaced with K. 208 although the inlay text was left stating
     K. 87. The sound on the Pagny originals have been significantly reduced
     in amplitute in their Hatto incarnations.

     tracks are composed by Scarlatti.
