Abandon Kansas is a four piece indie pop/rock band. Hailing from Wichita, KS
Abandon Kansas is easily has the most potential of Do It Yourself bands in the
midwest. With three tours under their belt and an entire year of shows already being
lined up for 2007, the possibilities are endless. Abandon Kansas played over 110
shows in '06 playing with a wide variety of bands from solid pop acts like Rookie of the
Year, Ruth, and Waking Ashland to indie rockers like Showbread and Sullivan to
christian artists like Audio Adrenaline and Thousand Foot Krutch.
Though the music is clearly inspired by certain artists, there is no doubt they have
an original approach to their sound. The bands a lot of inspiration from bands with
above-par live shows like Mute Math or Sherwood. Sometimes its textbook guitar pop
and two verses later its intricate piano and falsetto vocals. And their lyrics are bigger
than their genre... genuine and honest, but hardly ever cliche'. Abandon Kansas follows
through with an always entertaining live show and heavy touring schedule. I would
