Up next on Prolekult, some double-sided
business from Yellowknife, "True Soul" b/w
"Pitch Blend".
Yellowknife, the collective name for producer
extraordinaire Chris Scott (Lexicon Avenue,
Little Green Men, Echomen, etc... shall we go
on?) and fellow studio bods Simon Gibb and
Peter May, provide two fine cuts of
tech-tinged house for Prolekult. The last
outing from Scott on the label was the
much-raved about techy progger "Dark Light"
and this release is set to follow in its
footsteps.
"True Soul" on the A side kicks straight off
with grooving, housey percussion before tight
and techy progressive influences start
creeping in giving the track a bit of snap as
deep words drift over the running beats. Over
on the flip, "Pitch Blend" continues the
quality with spaced out, funk-touched FX
sitting atop the low, bumping bassline and
drums.
