Broadening the scope of their musical movements with hook
laden craftwork and infectious melodies, the Brooklyn based
CINEMA, CINEMA stroke a new brush to indie rock.
Riff mosaic monster play, crashing drums and bass lines that
walk your girlfriend home from school meet passion stained
vocals and a drive for more, more, more. The three piece
consists of Ev Gold on vocals, scenery and guitar massacre,
Chris Tropeano on lead bass, and Pat Fusco driving the drums.
Three musicians seasoned over time spent banging away with
other outfits around Brooklyn, Jersey, and California. Their
debut e.p. - Viva!! Cinema, Cinema, is due to be released in
NOV 21 2006, by Digitone Records. It was recorded & mixed at
Headgear Studios in Brooklyn (home to TV on the Radio and
Yeah Yeah Yeahs, among others), & produced by SF Norton. Call
it Punk-Folk, Indie-Art, Space-Rock or just your favorite new
thing.

As a whole....
Pat Fusco - Drums...the body
Mr. Fusco is a drummer and the man in the driving seat of the
song structures. The backbeat and the lifeline, a drummer who
writes as well as he keeps time. Born In New Jersey, Pat
would not just settle for playing music, he needed more,
more, more. He needed to experience the world to learn his
craft. Spending years in California and solid time traveling
the world, he is the guru of the band,..the Zen master. When
something isn't working, it is Pat who steps in and pushes
the ideas to the next level. A seasoned veteran of indie
slamming rock, he spent time playing with the emo outfit Dira
on the East coast, as well as the art-math outfits The New
Left Right & Lines Of Sight in California. He hits hard and
he plays for keeps every time. The cement. When asked, "What
makes you play?"...his answer is "the now".
Chris Tropeano - Bass Guitar...the heart
Bass player, Blues boy, Hip-Hop soul,...the anchor. Chris
plays a different style of bass then your usual indie rock 4
stringers. He plays stark lead throughout the soundscapes of
Cinema, Cinema - establishing the melodies and stinging the
hooks. A Brooklyn boy, Italian-Irish and burning with heart,
he is the backbone...tempering Pat's furious tempo's and
matching Ev's soaring vocal lines. He's played bass with a
varied mix of bands. The indie outfit BrokenDoor, the
post-Alternative band RISE (where he and Ev met), and the
hip-hop/funk band THA BROOKLYN PIONEERZZ. He and Ev have
played together on and off for over 13 years...meeting as two
kids who needed music, just to be. He is the big, bloody
heart of the band's intricate sound and his chemistry with Ev
is the deciding factor in the sound. He also played on Ev's
solo stuff and is the perfect songwriting partner for Ev's
outro style.
Ev Gold - Guitar/Vocals...the soul & the scenery
Ev is one of the last of a truly extinct species. A
self-taught musical maniac, a song writer and a passionate
emoter-floater. Ev was born in New York City to teenage
parents and a broken family. He was raised by wolves in
Brooklyn and immediately clung to the guitar and to the muse
as his own family from the age of 10 years old. He spent time
as a lead screamer in the punk band PUBLIC WITNESS and
SUICIDE EYES ELVIS, he was the lead singer of RISE (where he
and Chris first started their musical journey), the lead
guitar player in LOTUS TOY and also an acclaimed solo artist,
releasing the e.p.'s APEX MATTER [2001] and STEAL THE SCENE
[2003]. He attacks the guitar and helps to shape the out of
the box sound that Cinema, Cinema goes for. He is a writer
and an artist and your new favorite busted hero.
All the songs are written as one, in a circle with each
member contributing evenly. Ev writes the words, because he
sings them.
