Release Notes:
This EP is 6 songs, comprised in equal parts of brand new
material, remixed old material, and standards that weren't
finished for the Stance release.
It is a limited release of 300 (200 CD's and 100 Cassette tapes
for boomboxes of all stripes!). Each is hand-numbered and
hand-assembled, and features awesome hand-stamped artwork by Cory
Speets, the mastermind behind His Mischief's album art, as well as
many of our posters.
We are beginning work on our next full length and putting together
some great stuff for winter and spring. See you all soon! -MC/VL
----------
MC/VL is a Minneapolis-based hip-hop crew, consisting of two MC's
and one DJ. The crew name itself is a composite of the MC's and
founding members' stage names, Mighty Clyde (MC), and The Vicious
Lee (VL). Their principle musical influences are early and
mid-80's hip-hop and rap, such as Run DMC, Slick Rick, Doug E.
Fresh, and The Beastie Boys.
They played their first show in October of 2005 with Eyedea and
Face Candy. Though they are a hip-hop crew, they play primarily on
rock bills, and have recently played with Birthday Suits, Mute
Era, Thunder in the Valley, and others.
In February of 2006, a live DJ, Professor BX, was added. Prior to
this, they performed off of an iPod.
Their first studio album, entitled "Stance," was released in
February 2007. (http://minnewiki.publicradio.org/index.php/MC/VL)
