Release notes:

Generation Y is the fresh new track from The Hampdens (Susannah Legge, vocals;
Gavin Crawcour, guitar/bass; Jules Hewitt, keys). The Hampdens developed their
music amongst the sun-drenched beaches of Perth, before moving to Melbourne to
record their debut album, The Last Party. Generation Y is co-written by Julian
Hamilton of The Presets who is also the co-writer behind Silverchair's latest
smash 'Straight Lines'. Last Party was engineered by Matt Lovell (Silverchair,
Eskimo Joe) and produced and mixed in both Melbourne and New York by Victor Van
Vugt (Beth Orton, PJ Harvey, Nick Cave). Susannah's haunting yet dreamy voice is
the essence of their new single, Generation Y. Generation Y is about beauty and
hope, about white Converse sneakers and beating hearts in dark clubs, about a
new generation for whom Kurt Cobain is nostalgia and 'CK one' is a cultural
relic, about going back to the town you grew up in and burying your hands in the
soil.
