I found some sleeves at home and figured somebody might like a copy!* Could this be the beginning of a
new series of Smallfish releases? I'll leave you to work that out, but essentially 'Celestion' wouldn't fit on a
3" CD, so, here it is on a 5"! Having been re-edited and chopped down to 8 minutes on the Celestion EP on
Meanwhile in 2005, it felt right to give the original 40 minute version of this track an airing as quite a few
people have asked about it over the last few years. Celestion is a hypnotic, dub-Techno laced track that
works simply because it's so simple, so head-nodding and so full of reverb and echo. The melodic chord
sounds will be recognisable from the edit, but they have more movement and live filtering and the rhythm is
considerably stripped down. Deep, fluid sounds all round. Then, after 20 minutes, the track drops into a
much more groove based section. The beat is slightly heavier, the percussion gets a tad more funky and
the sound of the chords and feedback delays becomes that bit more intense taking you on a minimal ride
that spans out over the remainingtime of the track. In some ways you could compare this to the lengthier
work by Rod Modell (in spirit more than actual sound) or even the TV Victor release on Tresor. Whichever
way it's described this is your chance to get your hands on the original version and as it's coming in a
numbered limited edition of 100 copies, I'd suggest getting in there pretty quickly!
