Mel Torme was one of the finest singers of the 20th Century and
this salute to Bing Crosby, another master vocalist, is most
impressive. The string arrangements by Alan Broadbent veer
toward the slush at times, but Torme's very beautiful voice
nestles amongst the violins to often wondeful effect ("Love in
Bloom" sounds positively symphonic).
As ever, Mel shows total understanding and empathy with a
lyric, and the disc includes several lovely Mr Cros songs which
haven't been heard in a while. I particularly enjoyed "Without
a Word of Warning" and "Don't Let That Moon Get Away". There's
not a hackneyed song on the programme - even "Pennies from
Heaven" sounds fresh.
This really is a fine record.

your local 127.0.0.1 p2p program, We do not distribute ! But it's not
nice to buy when you do not know what you're buying.
As a matter of fact, DGN is a private group, and do not need rippers,
fast or slow shells, traders, t1+ sites, couriers, prewhores, and hw
suppliers, we need only a nice chalet in Switzerland/Canada or a Villa
in the Caribbean sea where to listen to some chillout music.
