| Well it has been a while in the brewing, and nearly two years |
| since the first Transparent release, thankfully we've finally |
| laid hold of the hot item on many peoples' end of year, best of |
| lists. And its a beauty. Scud and I Sound together sounds like a |
| fearsome pairing for an album, yet this mature and accomplished |
| set should jolt a few people out of their their mentalist |
| preconceptions. Robert Lippok and Erik Errorsmith both rate this |
| album, cause essentially its a work of chiselled, bone hard bass, |
| scary dub, wrecked hip hop and razor detailed electronics. |
| Shimmers of the uk underground are quite delicious on the |
| excellent "Has it Come To This?" and the destroyed fragments of |
| Timbaland which survive "Classic Case" seem to glow after the |
| reduction like nuclear residues. If you dig the avant hip hop of |
| El P, then take it to the next level, retain the tempo and love |
| this album of in I Sound's own words, "leveling staggered funk |
| bangers". Absolutely! "Wyatt" shows you some of the stunts |
| possible when I-Sound performs with To Rococo Rot, ruthlessly |
| pared back to glacial bass, sheathed in a kind of sheen, |
| punctured by both bottom end and an intrusive squall of Albert |
| Ayler inflected business, until a lovely electroacoustic vamp |
| takes us several strata deeper into the Wasteland. Think of the |
| finest moments on Keith Whitman's Kranky album and you'll have |
| some idea as to the singular feeling this passage conveys. And |
| its from this moment, at the end of track one, that this album |
| really begins to unfold. A landscape laid waste, ravaged by |
| junglism and malevolent electronic forcefields, as XLR8R magazine |
| so brilliantly puts it "a profound lesson in impossible sound". |
| The deliberate, defiantly downbeat tempos suit this kind of album |
| perfectly, where the density of sound can gather and surround to |
| the point of total immersion. A very exciting way to kickstart |
| the new year, an album rich with possibilities and suggestions |
| for the future. Highly recommended |

: Founded in 1998 by a bunch of german geeks, UBE was one of the :
| first groups in the mp3 scene, when only a dirty dozen of them |
| were there. Ever since we did quality releases, instead of |
| focusing on quantity like it is done by most groups today. |
| |
| UBE is a group of friends, friendly and open-minded, and so we |
| seek for new friends, not just ripping machines. And we are |
| probably the group doing the most parties ;) |
| When you apply you have to be a little bit patient, |
| we need some time to get to know you. |
| |
| Over time we have grown to a quite big group with nearly 50 |
| Members, scattered all over the world, but most of them from |
| Germany. |
| In UBE there is no duty to release something, we don't force our |
| members into releasing a specific amount, since this only leads |
| to crappy releases. Stuff you can buy at some gas station is not |
| really worth ripping. |
| |
| Besides releasing you can help us in many ways, we seek for |
| programming experts, linux gurus,security experts and (legit) |
| shell providers as well, just to name some examples. |
| |
| In addition, UBE membership doesn't expire, we don't kick idle |
| friends. If you can behave you will stay with us forever, so |
| don't ever try to take advantage of our friendly attitude. |
| And, in UBE is no place for racism or other kinds of extremists, |
| and if you are some ego please go somewhere else. |
| |
| Even though we are friendly, we don't fill requests for security |
| reasons, so don't come requesting files in our public channel, |
| if we don't know you - youre very likely not to be heard. |
| |
| People should care a lot more about their and other people's |
| security. |
| Get educated and think before you start to talk or even act. |
| There is a growing gap between the ones that do think about |
| security and the ones that don't, try to avoid a split. |
