Following on from february's "Skydive From Venus" single the Detroit Grand
Pubahs pick up the pace with this stunning string-drenched piece of techno.
"Birth In Zero Gravity" is the 2nd single taken from the forthcoming album
"Nuttin Butt Funk" (the ass fixation continues) and will appeal to both house
and techno heads alike. The teaming of Mack Goudy Jr. (aka Paris The Black Fu
aka The Schizophrenic Brainchild of Funkno aka Dr. Bootygrabber) & the
mysterious Mr O was a natural disaster waiting to happen. Miraculously, the
personalities of these two tweaked characters seemed to compliment each other
perfectly and their uncontrollable infatuation with booty (butt, ass, gluteus
maximus) instantly bonded them together. the Pubahs now also run their own
label, det.ele.funk (or to give it its full title "Detroit Electro Funk") and
Paris has been busying himself with various other projects including The
Lotterboys on Eskimo Recordings, guest vocals for The Advent's "Scent of a
Woman", St. Plomb and Marc Romboy as well as his new production project "Filth
N' Dirt" with Dave The Hustler. On "Birth In Zero Gravity" we find Paris The
Black Fu's "Distress Signal Mix" building into a string-laden anthem replete
with echoing key stabs and full on chord progressions in what can truly be
described as the classic sound detroit techno. Think ur slugging it out with
Kenny Larkin and Kevin Saunderson and you know youÆve got a roof raiser on your
hands! On the flip, Paris's partner in funk, the blood-splattered butcher of
beats aka the mysterious Mr. O strips down the original to a fat rolling
bassline with the emphasis on percussion and groove. Lean and mean just like his
prime choice fillet cuts! The new Detroit Grand Pubahs album "Nuttin Butt Funk"
follows later this year.
