Release Notes:

TBA (aka Natalie Beridze) is an artist you can always rely
on for something a little bit out of the ordinary, and
while Thomas Brinkmann's Max Ernst label has long
supported her with a series 12"s and albums, her style has
polarised many with its unpredictable approach. This
latest album is no different and just to shake things up a
little bit it has two full cd's worth of new material -
that's a double album of inventive, interesting
compositions. The first disc is a collection of choppy
piano and oddly processed vocals, stopping occasionally
for a pummelling slice of Richard Devine/Autechre fuelled
electronics. The second disc is slightly easier to manage
having more 'songs' (they have singing on, at least) - but
the whole thing comes across as wilfully unusual and I
have to say it's one of the strangest things I've heard
all month. Very long, and very very personal, if you've
been following TBA's career to date you'll want in on this
surprising double package.
