Liparis Nervosa was born from the underground soul-jazz and funk
scene of Los Angeles in 2006. Their first 7" recording has rapidly
turned heads as it has become a top seller (distributed by Kajmere
Sound - ksdmusic.com) Not only are music fans on the West and East
coast listening, but Japan and Europe are in on it as well. The
group has quickly created a buzz by performing at venues such as
Detroit Bar, Blue Cafe, the Continental Room, the M Bar and the
Westwood Brewery. Although Liparis Nervosa is young in existence,
its musicians are no strangers to the music. You can see the group
members perform regularly with ensembles such as Bayalo', The
Rebirth, The Breakestra, Nafro, Tabaco y Ron, The Soul Hustler's
and Joey Sellers' Jazz Aggregation. From this diversity, Liparis
Nervosa's sound can best be described as melting pot of its members
influences. They have created a unique sound that mixes soul
grooves and break-beats with intelligent instrumental improvisation
and singing. Liparis Nervosa has embarked on this sonic journey to
