hot on the heels of her debut release on kranky, the album
blood is clean, honey owens aka valet releases her best track
yet on speck mountain's label burnt brown sounds.
honey owens has been an important figure in the portland
experimental music scene for more than 10 years, collaborating
with an array of both obscure and well-known music projects
including: world, nudge, dark yoga and jackie-o motherfucker.
'fire' is a gorgeous lilting track, with languid liquid
guitars played at a mellow stoned pace complete with hope
sandoval on downers-style vocal. the b-side track 'beachgaze
rendered' takes on a more droney and atmospheric feel, with
drifty vocals and wayward treated guitars; akin to having an
aural lick from a gentle ocean wave. lovely stuff.
