bad name, and poor trip-hop realizations of songs
which should really sound a lot better is one of those
things. I mean I'm all for blending the boundaries
between genres, and we've seen a lot of hugely
inspiring world music/traditional music/electronic
crossovers in the last few years but 'Neftakhir' is
just one step too close to the coffee table for my
liking and makes cheese out of what could be a hell of
a lot more interesting. I guess Bill Laswell is
responsible, let's blame him - he's got enough albums
under his belt and is super-talented enough to know
how to take criticism."
