Release Notes:
Tucanas is a group of 5 women who have been, since
2001, working on a project with percussion, voices
and accordeon. They write and compose all of their
songs, inspired by their personal life experiences.
They use their own body as an instrument, as well
as traditional percussion instruments such as
brazilian "surdos" or african "cabaτas", and others
invented by them. The show has a strong scenic
component, where they play with the rhythm and
harmony, standing between the feminin sensitivity
and the rude strenght of percussion.
"More than a feminin project, Tucanas are a
different way of wanting to make percussion music
trying to explore new sounds and an original
artistic expression."
