Excellent retrospective of Matthew Herbert productions and (mostly)
remixes, ranging from involvement with the likes of Moloko to mixing
Bjork and then Serge Gainsbourg. This collection comprises ofsome of the
more talked about (term "popular" just doesn't sit well with an artist
of such regard) remixes as well as the more obscure and rare ones. Also
included are some of the Herbert's own productions, remixed by his own
self (naturally). All in all, this is a must have to all fans of smart
UK deep house that is not just for the feet and the podium but for the
mind and the bedroom as weel. Perfect for lazy Sunday afternoons.
Oh... and may I say... This compilation is worth buying just for the
footnote on the sleeve alone. I want to quote it in full:

"thanks don't go to president tony blair and uk parliament for bombing a
poor and hungry people nor to bush for defying our democratic way of life,
yet failing to adhere to its most basic principles. thanks also goes
neither to the CIA for arming and training our so called enemies, nor to
western companies that sell anthrax and arms to whoever wishes to buy it."

End of quote. Controversial or not (we all have our own political agendas),
I salute an artist with an integrity and educated opinion. For more info
