Into The Dirt was released in Canada in September 2007. The album hit stores in
the U.S. via Warner on 02/05/08.
Thom has won the 2008 Canadian Blues Award for New Artist/Group of the Year for
his debut solo album Into The Dirt. The album was also just nominated for a
2008 East Coast Music Award for Blues Recording of the Year.
Drawing inspiration from finger-style master Mississippi John Hurt, the
essential songwriting of Tom Waits and Emmy Lou Harris, the melodies of jazz
great Charlie Haden, and his fatherÆs operatic voice, Swift delivers a
distinctive blend of folk, blues, country and rag style.
