│ Portugal's Rui da Silvabegan experimenting with music in ││
│ '92, inspired by people like Brian Eno and Sonic Youth and ││
│ soon formed 'Kaos Records'. ││

│ As the 'Underground Sound of Lisbon' with close friend, DJ ││
│ Vibe he released 'So Get Up', 'Dance With Me', and 'Are You ││
│ Looking For Me', in addition to numerous compilations and ││
│ remixes, making a name for himself in a country known more ││
│ for its port than its tribal house. ││
│ ││
│ In 1999, Rui jumped ship for London and a year later started ││
│ Kismet Records, named after the Turkish word for ││
│ 'fulfillment of destiny'. He now counts Sasha, John Digweed ││
│ and Danny Tenaglia amongst his many supporters. ││

│ Since the label's first release 'The Lights,' Rui has ││
│ collaborated with Chris Coco under the guise of CocoDaSilva, ││
│ and seen 'Touch Me' receive critical success going straight ││
│ in at Number 1, selling 400,000 copies and pick up the Muzik ││
│ Magazine award for the best single of 2001. ││
│ ││
│ Rui has since been asked by Yoko Ono to remix 'Walking on ││
│ Thin Ice,' the last track that she and John Lennon wrote ││
│ before his murder. ││

│ Rui Da Silva ft. Victoria 'Feel the Love' is released on ││
│ Kismet records on 27th January. His new album 'Mometics' is ││
│ due out next spring. ││
