█ ≥█ Danny Darko is the italian producer/manager Daniele ≥█ █
█ ≥█ Cannizzaro. I was born 1979 and I live and work in a ≥█ █
█ ≥█ little town near Milan, Italy. I'm the man behind the ≥█ █
█ ≥█ recording company ORYX MUSIC and behind Starchaser's ≥█ █
█ ≥█ best hits (including "love will set you free", 150000 ≥█ █
█ ≥█ copies sold worldwide in 2002, n.24 in the Official UK ≥█ █
█ ≥█ Singles Chart, licensed in 20 countries) ≥█ █
█ ≥█ ≥█ █
█ ≥█ Danny Darko's project was conceived in mid-2006, when I ≥█ █
█ ≥█ started focusing on elektro/minimal house sounds. This ≥█ █
█ ≥█ new sound is quite different from usual Starchaser ≥█ █
█ ≥█ sound, it is more "wicked", dark and club oriented but ≥█ █
█ ≥█ always with a touch of melody. Why of the artist name? ≥█ █
█ ≥█ I liked the character Donnie Darko, because he's a ≥█ █
█ ≥█ strange kinda hero with a complex personality. I see a ≥█ █
█ ≥█ little bit of me in him, so, that's it. ≥█ █
█ ≥█ ≥█ █
█ ≥█ After a few test tracks, including "The Ring" (n.2 ≥█ █
█ ≥█ Australia DMC Chart April 07) the first Darko's ≥█ █
█ ≥█ official single is "When She Comes". Pre-Released on ≥█ █
█ ≥█ digital in late november 2006 entered the top 10 in ≥█ █
█ ≥█ djdownload chart, where it reached n.6. The official ≥█ █
█ ≥█ vinyl has been released in late jun '07. ≥█ █
█ ≥█ ≥█ █
█ ≥█ In July 07 my new official single "We need to wake up! ≥█ █
█ ≥█ (died in your arms)" has been released as a special ≥█ █
█ ≥█ promo on digital immediately reaching n.3 in djdownload ≥█ █
█ ≥█ sales chart. In November 2007 the single has been ≥█ █
█ ≥█ released on vinyl. ≥█ █
█ ≥█ ≥█ █
█ ≥█ This project marks the beginning in the music biz of my ≥█ █
█ ≥█ environmental commitment. We, dance producers, have a ≥█ █
█ ≥█ powerful voice to speak out to the new generations and ≥█ █
█ ≥█ I wanted to exploit this chance. This single is my ≥█ █
█ ≥█ message against the "deforestation" , one of the issues ≥█ █
█ ≥█ related to the global warming problem. The single is ≥█ █
█ ≥█ connected to a green initiative called "1 Record = 1 ≥█ █
█ ≥█ Tree" and part of the revenues will be donated to the ≥█ █
█ ≥█ no-profit organization "Trees for the future". ≥█ █
█ ≥█ ≥█ █
█ ≥█ At the beginning of 2008, two new singles are going to ≥█ █
█ ≥█ be released. The first is "MOAI Ep" featuring the ≥█ █
█ ≥█ tracks "Desertification" and "Moai". I was so impressed ≥█ █
█ ≥█ by the Easter Island and Moai story that I decided to ≥█ █
█ ≥█ write a song on it :-). The second single is still a ≥█ █
█ ≥█ work in progress a melodic progressive house tune ≥█ █
█ ≥█ called "Princessine". ≥█ █
