Betty Ween brought a breath of fresh air to TurkeyÆs
alternative music scene with their album ôIn Betty Ween.ö
Now weÆre faced with an intense second album, ôBitterö, which
is the first album in Turkey to be sold only over the
Internet.
ôBitterö is a completely independent album that cannot be
easily categorized. With their up-front lyrics, nostalgic
tales and especially their music, the group succeeded in
carving out their own road with their historic 2004 first
album, ôIn Betty Ween.ö They continue to resist popular
culture in their country of origin and record in English,
but there is a striking difference between ôIn Betty Weenö
and their new album ôBitterö, which contains songs that
strike a calmer and more personal tone. ôThe ice is meant to
meltö
