Release Notes:
--------------
Distilled from a proposed double album, Their Subtle Purpose is the
culmination of 2 years work. Hauntingly moody, the album is suffused
with subtle rhythms and melodies that wander like misplaced spirits. It
has flow, craftsmanship, detail, and a deeply engaging, delicate beauty
that draws you in to its soundworlds and curious passageways. Sure to
be enjoyed by all fans of intelligent and listenable ambient.
(press release)
"... meandering, wistful, fragile and beautiful, and the rhythms seem
far more subtle than on previous efforts. Seems like a combination of
Circular Ruins and the slower tracks of Lammergeyer." Joe Rygwelski -
Hypnos Forum
"Kerby's talent shines brightly in ambient circles, and I have no doubt
that if he keeps releasing discs like this, that it won't be long
before his name is included with the best of the genre.
rik - Ping Things
"TCR's stock-in-trade is this kind of rich retooling of classic e-music
- deep, often pulsating tracts, punctuated by suggestive samples,
treatments, and sundry peripheral micro-incursion."
