Nicolas Matuszczak, alias Matzak, evolves on the electronic scene
since 2006 with full of sensitivity sounds, mixing virtuosity and
charm.
Elected by the French magazine Trax as one of the ten hopeful artists
of the moment, he released
in 2007 his first album on Boxer Recordings and an exclusive track on
"Villa Rouge vol.4" published on Citizen Records.
On the dynamics of this epic track "Blackout", Matzak comes back to
Dijon's label with the release of his first EP in December.
Halfway between progressive and minimal, his productions are real
electro operas. "Blackout" is a track which makes reference to the
minimal German scene, but the piano's melody perfectly fits with the
techno culture of Detroit (remember "String of Life"... ).
Matzak knows well how to place his sounds. He has the talent for
creating an inherent beauty, a sense of rhythm, which require to
include the acoustic version of "Blackout", based on piano +
bassdrum, lovely no?
"Madness" is a lethal weapon which places Matzak's sound at the level
of producers such as James Holden, the track starts soft and ends
dirty, noisy, epic again !
