1000 Miles From Home has created a unique alternative sound that might remind
you of early Smashing Pumpkins, Foo Fighters, or Incubus.
The band is currently focusing its effort on the release of an EP of original
material, titled "Collusion" scheduled for March 9th, 2007. They are also
booking live shows in Texas, Oklahoma, Louisiana, Arkansas, and New Mexico with
their diverse set of 10-12 original songs. The band has come a long way from
playing their first live show in Zac's living room on Halloween 2005. Since the
original sighting of Batman, you may have seen 1000 Miles From Home in such
Dallas area venues as the Curtain Club, Rock Steady, What?Bar, End Zone, or
Galaxy Club.
The group was formed in Dallas, TX in the Summer 2005. When it came time to
choose a name for the new project, many hours of brainstorming yielded nothing.
Did you expect three engineers and a steel salesman to be creative? The theme
that all four members happened to be transplants from distant cities far from
Texas (Chicago, Detroit, St. Louis, Tampa) eventually surfaced and finally 1000
Miles From Home was born.
