Recorded in 1968, this solo debut from the obscure Long Island
psychedelic artist Faine Jade incorporates some fine, hazy
period pieces like "Cold Winter Symphony in D Major" and the
dreamlike "On the Inside There's a Middle." But, though pieces
like "Piano Interlude" and the "Doctor Paul Overture" mark
this set as one of the many experimental song cycles typical
of late-'60s psychedelia, both the slightly menacing "Don't
Hassle Me" and the frantic "People Games Play" counter the
good vibes and reflect the rapidly building social tumult of
the times,Brilliant mystical '60s US garage psych album.
this is the 'Sgt. Pepper' of US '60s garage psych and has
fine trippy quality all of it's own. Highlights are many,
whether they are the well arranged string based interludes or
acid guitar led songs. "People Games Play" (from the 'Endless
Journey' comp), "Doctor Paul", "Cold Winter","Sun Symphony in
D Major", "I Lived Tomorrow Yesterday", and the angry youth
anthem "D o n Æt Hassle Me" all deserve a mention.
