Release Notes:
Originally named Reno, Parker Theory was formed in
the fall of 1999 after recording a 'side-project'
demo. The members, all longtime musicians, decided
to pursue the new style and sound that came out of
this 'side-project.' Jesse and original bassist JJ
were playing in a punk band together at the time and
recruited Ryan, who played with JJ previously in
another band. Jeff, although not the original
drummer, was involved with the band from the start.
After recording the bands first demo, he was asked
to join the band and play drums. After Jeff joined,
again they recorded the popular 5-song EP. Soon
after recording, Jason was added to take the place
of JJ. Jason was a veteran from an Arizona punk band
and a longtime friend of the band. The boys have
played and toured with such national acts as:
Blink-182, Face to Face, MxPx, Reel Big Fish,
Unwritten Law, Lagwagon, No Use For a Name,
Buck-o-Nine, Strung Out, All, Millencolin, and many
others. As Reno they were asked to be a part of the
Volcom Entertainment compilation 'The early poems
of...,' and contributed 'No Regrets' to the CD. Now
with the current lineup and as Parker Theory they
are distributing the demo to contacts throughout the
Industry, playing shows throughout the Southern
California and Arizona area, and looking forward to
their first full-length release. In the latest news
Parker Theory has been working closely with
Smashmouth to shop their music to labels by
recording even more material and playing shows with
the likes of Smashmouth and Eve 6. Look for Parker
Theory to join up with Homegrown for a couple of
shows in 2002.
