Hailing from the darkest corners of sun-stained San Diego,
The Strangers Six have turned heads with raucous revelry
in punk nostalgia and pop excitement. The shadows of The
Sixx extend viciously into the intense future of the San
Diego music scene. The San Diego scene-dom royalty adds
the band as members, due in part to; the nominations from
the San Diego Music Awards for the title of ôBest Punk
Bandö three years in a row, a solid appearance at the
Warped Tour in 2005 and most recently singles from the
upcoming, A Date With Daylight, blowing up locally on San
DiegoÆs own Alternative station; 91X as well as college
and indie stations across the country and international
spins in countries like peru, and the UK as well!
A Date With Daylight, The SixxÆs upcoming sophomore
release, (out May 8th on Orange Peal Records) combines
hints of vintage rock & roll purity with melodic radical
rhythms, hence insuring that The Sixx will be the voice of
the youth for sometime to come.
Over the last three years, these five musicians have spent
time inflicting the West Coast with a sound of
spellbinding mystery, stylish panache and sinister
intrigue. This period resulted in a self-released EP, The
Inaugural, which produced rave reviews in local and
national arenas and a stage show that charmed a spirit of
diehard passion alongside honest rock and roll.
The Strangers Six are a crew of mangled go-getters, poised
with an elegiac glance to the past and an elegant shrug to
pass impostors. With compelling acts of rebellious rock
beats, The Strangers Six have surely mastered the system.
Frontman Aaron ThompsonÆs sultry attack rings reminiscent
of haunting punk legend Glenn Danzig, merging
self-medicating blues with contemporary consciousness;
coupled with the menacing song-writing of Luke Johnson and
Thomas Garcia, and the pounding soul of drummer Jason
Perry and bassist Evan Ehrich, The Sixxx are a veritable
force to be reckoned with.
ôWe are the perfect blend of Sleaze and Class ", claims
band founder Aaron Thompson. ôWhen I started this band, I
did so to stay young and keep my innocence...who wants to
grow up anyway? Well, I've stayed young, but I lost my
innocence somewhere in-between."
The Strangers Six are no strangers to touring up and down
the west coast, playing venue to venue and leaving their
smear from town to town for the past 3 years. The Sixx
have added to their resume playing shows with; TSOL,
Dashboard Confessional, The Cult, Frandz Ferdinand, Ok Go,
The Misfits, The Bouncing Souls, 30 Seconds To Mars, The
(International) Noise Conspiracy, Strung Out, Hot Water
Music, The Bronx, MxPx, She Wants Revenge, The Lashes, The
Sounds, Hard-Fi, Atreyu, Panic! At the Disco, Bullets and
Octane, The Living End, and many more!
Exuding emotion, delivering a unique brand of rock and
roll that lyrically raises eyebrows to social expectations
and sings mournfully across a chorus of modern youthful
strugglesà The Sixx have all their stars aligned.
