Downtown Harvest was born in the winter of 2002 as a blues/funk bar band. They
relocated to Los Angeles in January '05 with the hopes of refining their sound
and taking on a new audience. They set up camp in a small practice studio
outside of Hollywood for one year, and the result was an extremely original and
creative transformation in their music.
Adding drum machines and keyboards into the mix, the group debuted their new
material at some of LA's hippest clubs. They ventured into the studio and
recorded and produced a 12-song debut LP. Now back on the east coast, the band
is determined to take their music to yet another level.
Downtown Harvest is an eclectic blend of melodic groove rock, pop, hip-hop, and
dance. With three lead singers, big beats, and versatile song writing the band
often leaves their listeners guessing at what will come next. Using various
keyboards, saxophone, electric bass, drums, drum machines, and guitars, Downtown
Harvest has created a multidimensional sound that taps into many genres both
classic and contemporary. Their music has personality with catchy hooks,
head-bopping grooves, and a little sense of humor. The group references Jimi
Hendrix as much as C&C Music Factory as the framework for their sound. They
bring explosive and contagious energy to their live show, wowing their audiences
time and time again.
