A band always runs the risk of being marginalized when its
members refuse to conform to any given musical trend. However,
it can also be said that these bands, who transcend present
gimmicks and stay true to rock-and-roll, ensure the longevity
and credibility of their music. Del Asher strive to be one of
these bands. Having formed in late 2004, originally being the
brainchild of Julian Tomarin, Del Asher have grown into a band
praised for their live shows and emphasis on musicianship,
melody and technical profficeincy. "We concentrate more on our
actual performance, emphasizing our music and how we are
presenting it, over what clothes we have on or who has the most
stylized hair," says Tomarin. "I mean don't misunderstand us,"
jokes Murphy. "We all look rad as hell but that's just how we
always look." During the winter of 2006 Del Asher set up camp at
Silo studios, just outside of Hamilton, Ontario, enlisting the
genious of producer Julius Butty; the man responsibile for
Alexisonfire's smash record, "Watch Out!" The result is a three
song demo, boldly entitled "The Greatest Hits." Now with a
demo to shop under their belts and a years worth of extensive
touring, Del Asher are ready to do what every band strives
to do, they want to take over the world and nothing will stop
them from accomplishing their goal.
