In the early months of 2006, a common passion for life and expression brought
five young Floridian friends out of the musical frustrations that made up their
lives and into the joyful (but risk-ridden) endeavor of Rodeia. With the
generous love and support of others, these five young guys received what was
needed to leave behind school, jobs, loved-ones, and other everyday securities
to tour the nation sharing their love and faith inspired music with all who will
lend an ear. For this season of their lives, the members of Rodeia plan to spend
the majority of their time living in a used fifteen-passenger church van
traveling from venue to venue in an attempt to share their creativity and joys
of life with others. Their melodic yet indie-aggressive music is aimed at all
audiences with an open mind. In this same sense, their desires are to meet and
befriend individuals from all different regions and backgrounds, and reflect the
God-enthused love that they have discovered onto others. Knee pads are for
phags.. Although hours of dedication have been invested into developing this
band's current musical direction, this group's creativity is constantly pushing
their sound to new levels of originality. While Rodeia is in fact a new band
with a new sound, their ambitions are greater then any other and have been
quickly noticed by a variety of fans.
Rodeia (ro-day-uh)- It is a bit of a long, confusing story as to how we came up
with the word rodeia, but to make a long story short it symbolizes the idea of
repentance. It stems from the name of a fictional character who thrives off of
supreme social status. He searches high and low for fufillment and comes up
short. In the end, he finds eternal contentment and satisfaction only comes from
what we would agree to be the one living God and turns away (repents) from the
empty promises of this world.
