- Release Notes ------------------------------------------------------------- -

Sometimes being in a punk band isn't high-quality enough catharsis for your
truest emotions. Is it any wonder that one-time punk and/or emo leaders like
Chris Carrabba, Chuck Ragan and Kevin Devine dropped their electric angst axe
and slung a softer six-string over their backs? Similarly, there's something
endearing about former In the Red member Hale laying his soul and songs bare
over three quiet chords and over-dubbed vocals. Broken gets you fixed on
moments of startling vulnerability, like the moving "Most Beautiful," even if
his solo debut is, overall, a moribund and deeply personal journey.
