Release Notes:
The "Philharmonisches Streichtrio Berlin" is one of the many
chamber ensembles that have traditionally grown out of the
Berlin Philharmonic Orchestra. Since being founded in 1994, it
has played in many European Cities as well as the Monte Carlo
and Stresa Festivals, among others. It offers the audience a
programme of colourful and highly contrasting pieces, with
works ranging from the classical to the contemporary (e.g.
Gy÷rgy Kurtßg), but it also takes the liberty, when
appropriate, to display its own playful pleasure in
virtuosity. Drawing upon soloists from the Berlin Philharmonic
Orchestra, the ensemble also appears in larger groups: as a
quartet with piano or with flute, and as a quintet with harp
and flute.
The Trio consists of:
Romano Tommasini (violin)
Wolfgang Talirz (viola)
David Riniker (cello)
Since the first part of the album was written for a Quartet
Luc Devos joins the ensemble on the piano.
All Parts were written by Mozart in 1788.
