██▓ ░ Brahyhan Art The Best New Artist for the year 2002
██▓ ░ is Brahyhan Art, by (ER) Entertainment Report, TVJ,
██▓ ░ 2003. His name aptly describes him and his unique
██▓ ░ style of music. The multifaceted artist, husky
██▓ ░ voiced singer, witty songwriter and consummate
██▓ ░ musician, delivers with passion, meaning and
██▓ ░ message. His singles Soon Come Back and When Your
██▓ ░ Eyes Speak on the Sunshine reggae remix immediately
██▓ ░ began charting as they hit the airwaves. Born in
██▓ ░ St. Ann, Jamaica, Bryan Grant, as his parents named
██▓ ░ him, recalls playing the guitar before the tender
██▓ ░ age of eight. His keen interest in music was
██▓ ░ inspired by his eldest brother Robert, a then
██▓ ░ recording artist known as Ray Grant. However, it
██▓ ░ was his mother who taught him his first three
██▓ ░ primary chords on which heÆd improvise for the next
██▓ ░ couple of years. During his early teens, the guitar
██▓ ░ became secondary until years later when he began
██▓ ░ practicing for a college entry audition. He majored
██▓ ░ in guitar (Caribbean Latin American & Jazz Studies)
██▓ ░ while he attended the Edna Manley College of the
██▓ ░ Visual and Performing Arts. While in school
██▓ ░ Brahyhan was discovered by George Miller, who gave
██▓ ░ him his first big break as a guitarist an
██▓ ░ opportunity to tour as a member of the Fire House
██▓ ░ Band LucianoÆs backing band at the time. An
██▓ ░ immeasurable experience, Brahyhan toured with
██▓ ░ Luciano (Grammy nominee), Mikey General, and Sizzla
██▓ ░ for years and later with Bushman as band leader and
██▓ ░ guitarist of his Grass Roots Band. When he wasnÆt
██▓ ░ touring, he was either teaching music, part time,
██▓ ░ in two local schools or pursuing his long time
██▓ ░ dream of singing. He also wrote songs for artist
██▓ ░ such as George Nooks, Singing Melody, Bushman,
██▓ ░ Luciano, etc. Today, devoted to his singing career,
██▓ ░ Brahyhan Art, often hailed by the name of his
██▓ ░ dancehall hit, Rock An Come In, represents a new
██▓ ░ generation of reggae that keeps in the tradition of
██▓ ░ crooners who came before him, those who inspire
██▓ ░ him, including the likes of Dennis Brown, Al Green,
██▓ ░ Stevie Wonder, Beres Hammond, and Toots Hibbert to
██▓ ░ name a few. With his latest chart friendly, hit
██▓ ░ single Get It enjoying high rotation, Brahyhan Art
██▓ ░ under the Junction File label, continues to bring
