Release Date: 12th August 2002. Denmark based April
Records show that they can compete with the likes of West
London, Germany and all, with this collection of
awe-inspiring heartfelt future soul and nu-jazz. Not
sticking to any particular styles of production or vibe,
'Companionship' injects a hit of versatility, variety and
diversity, often missing from compilations today.
Featuring a variety of Danes, Norwegians and Swedes and
compiled by the Danish freestyle jock DJ Wunderbaum, this
is a perfect showcase for Scandinavia. The Odd Couple's
'Paper Kites' clashes cymbals with Afro percussion, while
tender passionate keys, a gorgeous temptuous vocal that
says it all yet nothing at the same time and a gargled
trumpet thrill all. 'Gonky Boa' by Jol is a decidedly
weird affair, with a kaleidoscope of musical influences,
including over-excited eastern drumming, sleazy brass and
keys bursting with intrigue add flavour to the melting
pot. Tonny Svensson Project feat Fleming Fano's 'Searchin
For Love' is a romantic dream, with a smooth jazzical
flute, which plays a question and answer game with itself,
organic percussion and Fleming's lovestruck vocal. Butti
49's 'Kolar Focus' takes statement making forceful
stabbing brass, a mellow stoned amused flute, passionate
jumped percussion and a circling dizzifiying guitar on a
       remarkable journey. enjoy
