While they seldom blunder or even do anything questionable,
Heartbeat's decision to update Andrew Tosh's Tomato album
Original Man is mystifying. Instead of rereleasing the old
album in remastered form, they've totally remixed the
tracks, putting Tosh's voice into a new musical situation
with a dancehall sound that doesn't fit the lyrics. In
addition, there are eight new dub tracks for an album that
wasn't that scintillating the first time out. A couple of
the dubs have good production, but this really isn't very
moving or interesting. While Tosh tries hard, and the song
"Poverty Is A Crime" was a strong one, there wasn't enough
on the album to merit this deluxe repackaging and remixing
