After the success of the recent retrospective album charting the
solo career of the legendary Chaz Jankel, this EP calls in two high
flyers of contemporary disco music for remix duties. DFA's Hercules
And Love Affair need no introduction, having wowed everyone with
their alt-disco anthem "Blind". Here they deliver two excellent
remixes of "Get Myself Together", Chaz's newest classic: The
'Hercbump' mix is a stripped-down, bumping, jerky jazzy number,
with some very sweet melodies and keys added - very smooth; and the
'Herchouse' mix - again, a very stripped-down, percussive, twisted,
teched-out number with some pretty out-there vocal treatments. The
flipside is equally exciting, with a re-edit of the brilliant "Glad
To Know You" by the inimitable Norwegian disco don Todd Terje
(pronounced 'terhay'). This is a lush treatment with pianos to die
for.
