▀▀▀▀▀▀▀▀▀▀▀▀▀▀▀▀▀▀▀ Notes And Comments About The Release ▀▀▀▀▀▀▀▀▀▀▀▀▀▀▀▀▀▀▀▀

Lee Perry Treasures of the Lost Ark featuring Bob Marley tracks
never before available. This 40 track box set is ideal for
collectors as well as all lovers of good music.
One of the pioneers of black music unleashes his consummate
collection to date in an exclusive and comprehensive collection.
Prestigiously crafted and ideally timed to be launched around the
Christmas period when a box set of this quality will be truly
     appreciated.
BY THE TIME Lee Perry the Upsetter opened the Black Ark studio in
his own back yard in Washington Gardens in 1974, he had already
established himself as one of the great innovators in reggae music.
Towards the end of 1969, Lee Perry was approached by Bob Marley who
insisted he wanted him to produce his songs. Working with the
Wailers, Lee Perry produced what many consider to be some of the
groups most inspired work. Now in full control of his own
establishment and working for the first time as his own engineer at
the desk, he set about to extend further his vision of how he wanted
his music to sound and went on to create a body of work that in its
way surpassed anything heard then or since. The elaborate tapestry
of sound he contrived to weave from his rudimentary equipment during
the next few years before setting the world ablaze for his most
spectacular upset yet, was a densely conceived body of work that in
terms of its imagery and invention the most modern of studio
technology is yet unable to match.
