|::| After the excellent Fjord 12" on theGerman label |::|
|::| Stereo Deluxe, and dozens of releases on |::|
|::| differentcompilations the last couple of years, |::|
|::| finally, here is the debut album fromAthome |::|
|::| Project. |::|
|::| |::|
|::| Mr. Athome himself is StianJacobsen, a 27 years |::|
|::| old multi-instrumentalist & producer from Stord, |::|
|::| an island outside Bergen, Norway. In the |::|
|::| springtime of 1998, he got problems with his |::|
|::| back and had to quit his daytime job. |::|
|::| Fortunately, this gave him the opportunity to |::|
|::| dedicate all of his time to produce music and |::|
|::| explore the outer limits of electronica. He is |::|
|::| now an important part of the ever-growing |::|
|::| electronica-scene in Bergen (including a/o |::|
|::| R÷ysopp, Ralph Myerz and Bj°rn Torske). |::|
|::| |::|
|::| Everythingis played, recorded and produced in |::|
|::| Stians bedroom, a true "Athome"production. Like |::|
|::| his R÷yksopp friends, he has a melodic and |::|
|::| pop-oriented approach to composing his music. |::|
|::| This is mixed with a nice blend ofelectronica, |::|
|::| funky and jazzybeats and dubish grooves, |::|
|::| creating the unique and irresistible Athome |::|
|::| sound. An important element in the Athome sound |::|
|::| is also Caitlin Simpson from Canada, now living |::|
|::| in Bergen. She contributes with soulful vocals |::|
|::| on several tracks, and is an important part of |::|
|::| the Athome live set-up. |::|
|::| |::|
|::| A 12" with remixes from R÷yksopp and Universal |::|
|::| Funk will be released in September 2002. |::|
