æEMERGENCYÆ is the brand new album from The Pigeon Detectives and is released on
26th May 2008 û exactly two days shy of a year after their debut æWait For MeÆ
came out. It crashed into the charts at number three and has since achieved
platinum status, a first for their independent label Dance to The Radio. A
single æThis Is An EmergencyÆ is released on the 12th May, which some fans may
remember from their sell out dates last year. The group, who recently opened
the NME Awards Shows with a blistering headlining appearance at the Astoria,
head out for a full UK tour in May which over 70,000 people have already snapped
up tickets for.
The band (Matt Bowman û vocals / Ryan Wilson û guitar / Jimmi Naylor û drums /
Oli Main û guitar / Dave Best- bass) recorded æEmergencyÆ in Monnow Valley in
Wales with producer Stephen Street and itÆs currently being mixed by Cenzo
Townshend with whom they worked with on the last record.
ôEmergency could describe the last 12 months. ItÆs been fairly frantic,
everythingÆs been going at breakneck speed between gigs and touring and
festivals. I think weÆve definitely written a record rather than a number of

The Pigeon Detectives turned down several (lucrative!) offers from other labels
after the success of their first record û which produced 4 hit singles û in
order to re-sign with Leeds label Dance To The Radio. After all, they got it
right first time around...
