   neglected by the popular media. Nonetheless, it features a roll-call

   of some of the most important names in "modern music" of all kinds,

   such as Sonic Youth, Sun Ra, Cabaret Voltaire and Diamanda Galas. The

   selections are extremely diverse, touching on electronica, jazz and

   post-rock to name but a few genres, yet the programming is cohesive

   enough to draw together seemingly disparate artists, revealing

   unusual connections. If you like any of the artists featured on this,

   I heartily recommend this set, as its 3-discs contain enough

   surprises to quench your unusual music needs.
