Introducing Ladyhawke, and this, her first release "Back Of
The Van" (produced by Michael De Francesco from Van She Tech)
will be available on download only from her website and My
Space from Tuesday 1st April 2008.
Ladyhawke is the alter ego of Ncw Zealander Pip Brown. After
spending time in Sydney in various bands, she has upped sticks
even further still, and now resides in London.
As a music-obsessed child with very musical parents
(step-father a drummer, mother a singer), she soaked up
everything from the 70's and 80's. From Stevie Nicks and Joan
Jett to Nirvana and Hole with Van Haien and Deep Purple in
between.
The result is a refreshing blend of rock. dance and pop. As
well as writing "Sack Of The Van" Pip also plays the drums.
guitar and synth on the track. It was the first song she wrote
for Ladyhawke back in late 2006.
Ladyhawke is already claiming fans such as Courtney Love and
electro-queen Peaches, who recently invited her to Berlin for
a week of recording and hanging out.
The Single "Paris Is Burning" is to be released on Modular
Records in June, and will be available on CD, 7" and download.
Followed by the debut album in late Summer.
