█░ ░█
█░ "When Six Degrees approached me about composing a mix CD ░█
█░ for their label, I asked myself, 'How can I structure a CD ░█
█░ taht not only sounds good but helps the listener come away ░█
█░ with a new persepctive on music'? Then it hit me. 'I'll ░█
█░ compose a Cd which consists of the kind of music that I was ░█
█░ exposed to as a youngster by my older brother.' If it ░█
█░ weren't for my brother John, I wouldn't know about classic ░█
█░ soul, funk or R&B." -CD sleeve blip ░█
█░ ░█
█░ "Rob Swift, a renowned member of hip hop's premiere crew ░█
█░ of turntable mavericks, the X-ecutioners, has compiled a mix ░█
█░ CD that brilliantly highlights his many influences. Under ░█
█░ the Influence sports some of Swift's favorite rare tracks in ░█
█░ R&B, funk, hip hop, Latin and jazz peppered with his ░█
█░ accomplished vinyl scratching. To peruse Swift's discography ░█
█░ is to discover his work with artists as diverse as Herbie ░█
█░ Hancock and Cornershop. He also recently starred in the film ░█
█░ Scratch, produced by The Hughes Brothers. Under the ░█
█░ Influence showcases Rob Swift's virtuoso talent as one of ░█
█░ the most tasteful and musical turntable composers to date." ░█

█░ ░█
█░ Odd to see this on Six Degrees, but it's a lovely mixset, ░█
█░ if not the sharpest mixes. All the tracks are from various ░█
█░ compilations, 1-12 from Tuff City Records (see URL below). ░█
█░ Loads more info on the CD sleeve than I wanted to copy down, ░█
█░ so you'll just have to pick up the album April 1st. ░█
█░ ░█
█░ *NOTE* er, yeah. It's a mix, even if sometimes the segues are ░█
█░ pretty quick, so CHR brings the proper album for those ░█
█░ picky enough to complain about rules. And a tip o' the ░█
█░ cap to KSi for the earlier rip. ░█
